Watch Knifemaker Create the ‘Fast Food Knife’ Using Beer, Bacon, Fries and Tums

Not getting enough America in your knives? Then meet the knife made using some of the ingredients all Americans love: beer, bacon, fries and Tums (for that inevitable heartburn).

Created by Steve Calvert from the always fascinating Green Beetle YouTube channel, the knife is fondly called the Fast Food Knife or the ‘Murica! Knife.

Watch 1000 Degree Hot Rocket Knife Cut Through Lighters

Thanks to the advent of YouTube, there’s no shortage of amateur scientists doing crazy things at their house.

We’ve seen the unparalleled Joerg Sprave create the knife chainsaw and some dude heat up a knife to 1000 degrees to cut things. Now, the Backyard Scientist is taking things to the next level with his latest experiment: the 1000 Degree Red-Hot Rocket Knife.

Normally, these videos only elicit a shrug in me, but some are just really captivating. In the latest video, the Backyard Scientist created a rail to act as a track for a knife to be shot 150 miles per hour at an object. To add to the insanity, he also heated the knife up to a temperature of about 1000 degrees before it’s propelled.

Watch 1000 Degree Knives Cut Through Things in Viral Videos

Meet the next internet obsession.

There’s no shortage of bizarre things on the internet that seem to take off out of nowhere, but the latest craze centers around knives.

Here’s how the latest knife-related internet sensation works: a knife is heated up to extreme temperatures with blowtorches and is then used to cut all types of objects. Seems simple (and kind of stupid, frankly) but there’s something oddly satisfying about watching a knife cut through objects like hot butter.

Now the knife community finally has some vindiction for all those times we’ve used a freshly sharpened knife to slice a tomato with minimal effort or shave armhair with a gentle sweep.

Watch ‘Psycho’ Theme Played on Piano with Knives

pyscho4752

For a movie that’s more than 55 years old, it’s astounding just how prevalent and instantly recognizable Psycho is—particularly the iconic music. If you’ve never seen it, Psycho is a horror film about a woman who ends up in a motel with its disturbed owner, Norman Bates.

The theme song is downright menacing. So how do you make this dread-invoking score even more frightening? Make knives an instrument.

That’s what composer Joachim Horsley did in a well-edited video.

Horsley has arranged and performed for movies and TV, and it’s cool videos like these that probably keep work coming in.

Watch a Throwing Knife Pump Gun in Action

Joerg Sprave

There are few people I admire more than Joerg Sprave. Not only is the dude always enjoying life but he comes up with and creates the most insanely cool weapons.

For those who don’t know, Joerg Sprave is the proprietor of The Slingshot Channel on YouTube. It’s there you can take a look at some of his uniquely original and highly functional creations. He’s basically Dennis the Menace on steroids. He uses wood and rubber bands in nearly all of his designs and often stretches the definition of a slingshot.

He’s made a machete slingshot, sawblade slingshot, and knife chainsaw, just to name a few.

Watch Cold Steel Go Head-to-Head with Competitors

cold-steel-voyager-clip-point-large-9627-p

Cold Steel has taken some hits over the years from hard-core knife enthusiasts.

First, some people were turned off by president Lynn Thompson’s proclamations of the best knives around. Then, others complained about issues with quality control. Many are not on board with the fact that the knives come from places like Taiwan and China. Finally, Cold Steel’s recent lawsuit against CRKT for making unfounded marketing claims riled up people even more.

Say what you will about Cold Steel, but the company does put out some durable knives. Cold Steel just has to put their heads down and let their knives speak for themselves (something I said in the article about the lawsuit).

Well, it looks like Cold Steel is taking my advice and letting their knives speak for themselves instead of going after other company’s marketing tactics.

Watch ‘Man at Arms: Reforged’ Team Craft Massive Sword

guts-pre-dragonslayer-sword-berserk-man-at-arms-reforged-youtube-thumb

Man at Arms: Reforged is a video series on YouTube that tasks a team of blacksmiths and craftsmen with making some of the most outrageous swords and weapons from pop culture.

They’ve done a lot of crazy creations like the Zelda Double Helix Sword, but the latest video sees one of their biggest swords ever: Guts’ Pre-Dragonslayer Sword.

While I typically have some fondness for the weapons created on the series, I must admit I am not familiar with the Berserk manga series, but I do have an appreciation for the creation of knives. (I do understand that this is actually a Pre-Dragonslayer sword and not the actual Dragonslayer sword wielded by Guts.)

For me, these Man at Arms videos from AWE me have always been more about the process because we get an inside look on how the weapons are made. In this video, we even get the bonus of seeing them create and scavenge for new ways to do things because the sword is so massive.

Watch Martial Artist Wield Nunchucks-with-Knives

Since man first started using knives, he’s been doing one of two things.

1) He’s been using knives for things they weren’t meant for, like throwing them at an oversized novelty playing card while an assistant holds it. 2) He’s been creating crazy creations with knives that shouldn’t exist, like the knife gun or the knife chainsaw.

Well, one guy managed to do both of those at once.

Nunchucks with knives

Before we get to the meat of the story, let’s once again preface this with a do-not-try-this-at-home disclaimer.

A Polish martial artist named Kacper Borowski decided to take his artful skill of twirling things to the next level by affixing knives to his nunchucks.

While we’ve seen this in games like Soulcalibur, it’s still crazy to watch someone do this, and I admittedly held my breath hoping he would come to his senses and stop.

Watch Blacksmiths Craft ‘Zelda’ Double Helix Sword

Majoras-Mask-670x376

Let me start off by saying that if you’re only interested in seeing a badass sword get made, skip a few paragraphs. For all you gamers and nerds, stick around.

So this might be a controversial statement, but I think Majora’s Mask is the best Zelda game of all time. Sure, Ocarina of Time laid out this new three dimensional world of Hyrule, but the darker themes and unique premise of its successor really struck a chord with me.

‘Man at Arms: Reforged’ Competes to Create the Best Zombie Weapon (Video)

Zom3

Are you suffering from zombie fatigue yet?

Let’s hope not because with the return of the Walking Dead‘s fifth season, Halloween quickly approaching, and the ever-present zombie video game, zombies ain’t goin’ nowhere.

That doesn’t mean we have to suffer though. Even if you are tired of the flesh-hungry hordes, you can still get some pretty cool stuff out of it.

That’s where the latest Man At Arms: Reforged video from the AWE Me Channel comes in.

In Monday’s video, Sam, Matt, and John each set out to create the ultimate weapon for a zombie apocalypse. The weapons included a katar, a spear, and a war hammer.

To make the competition fair, the guys brought in a third-party judge from over at Zombie Go Boom, which we’ve shared on social media a few times.
