With a strong reputation and a staunch commitment to quality, Benchmade is one of the most respected brands out there. So you shouldn’t be surprised that one of Benchmade’s most popular knives is this week’s Badass Knife of the Week.

The Benchmade 550SBKHG Griptilian features an all-American design that makes even the most hardened knife enthusiast swoon.

Knife Falls From Sky Right Into Man’s Head

We’ve all heard that expression about how you shouldn’t try to catch a falling knife, but a recent news story takes that saying to a whole new level.

A man in China was taking a stroll around his hometown when all of a sudden his head started feeling heavy and strange, according to Malcolm Moore of the Telegraph.

It wasn’t until someone spotted the man and pointed at his head with incredulity that he realized something was way off. A 5-inch knife was firmly lodged into his head after falling from the eighth-floor balcony of a high-rise building.

From the folks who brought you the riveting Man At Arms series comes with next iteration of the series… Man At Arms: Reforged.

Whereas the previous installment saw master bladesmith Tony Swatton recreate weapons found in pop culture (such as Sting from “The Hobbit” and the Lich King Frostmourne from World of Warcraft), this new installment reforges weapons from pop culture to create a new superweapon.

While we’ll definitely miss Tony Swatton and his gang, the new crew from Baltimore Knife and Sword seem more than capable of holding their own.

Badass Knife of the Week: ESEE Junglas

They say the lion is the undisputed king of the jungle, but the real king of the jungle is this week’s Badass Knife of the Week: the ESEE Junglas.

The ESEE Junglas (pronounced “hoonglas) has a badass history that only adds to the allure of the knife. Named after Colombia’s Jungla Commandos, which is the country’s premier counternarcotics unit, the knife was designed specifically for use in the dense jungles of Latin America.

With a razor-sharp blade that’s a little longer than 10 inches, the ESEE Junglas is as intimidating as it is functional. Its 22.5-ounce weight gives it enough heft to clear obstructed paths or tackle heavy-duty tasks around camp.

Badass Knife of the Week: Cold Steel Chaos

Even though it’s important to strive for the new and innovative, sometimes the best type of knife is one that blends the modern with the classic. That’s perfectly illustrated with this week’s Badass Knife of the Week: the Chaos from Cold Steel.

Taking inspiration from the trench knife used prominently in the two World Wars, the Chaos from Cold Steel is a modern take on the classic combat knife.

Chaos in Sheath Featuring a 7.5-inch carbon steel blade and a unique hand guard made from reinforced 6061 aluminum, the knife is fit for the modern day warrior.

Like the classic trench knife, the knuckle guard on the Chaos protects your fingers from injury during combat and prevents the knife from being knocked out of your hand. But unlike the knives of old, this blade is coated with black Tuff-Ex, which bolsters its corrosion resistance and enhances cutting power.

An asset of the Chaos is that it comes in two different versions: the double-edged model, which you can see in the main image, and the Tanto model.

Watch 2 Roombas With Knives Battle to Death

We at Knife Depot have always promoted knife safety, so let’s get this disclaimer out of the way: Do not try any of this at home.

With that out of the way, it’s time to move on to a serious topic: battle bots!

Two of my favorite shows growing up were Robot Wars and BattleBots because nothing beats seeing two robots strapped to the teeth with weapons battle to the death. (Though ironically, my favorite battling bot had no knives and was called Blendo, which was created by the two guys behind Mythbusters.)

The folks over at the production company Rooster Teeth, which has more than 7.5 million subscribers on YouTube, created a Happy Hour series that follows the drunken journey of three people. In the first episode, they drunkenly thought of the idea to strap knives to two Roombas and let them battle.
