Yes, we’re already in April, but the sheer amount of new knives this year means we’re still showcasing them on the blog. The good news is that most of these knives are now on the market, so you don’t have to wait.
This week, we’re looking at the array of new products from SOG Specialty Knives.
SOG Fillet
First up are two new fillet knives: a 6-inch fillet and a 7.5-inch fillet. The steel is 5Cr15MoV. They come with hard-molded nylon sheaths.

SOG Instinct
Next is the SOG Instinct. The most basic version is a compact fixed blade without any handle scales. The overall length is 5.9 inches, and the whole knife has a satin finish. Since it’s meant to offer multiple carry options, there’s a smaller version and two with G10 handles.
It’s praised for its versatility.

BladeLight Folder Mini
The awesome BladeLight Folder gets two smaller versions. The blade on these is only 3 inches long, but it packs some super bright LEDs on either side. It’s suitable for use near water and makes a nice camping knife. There’s a satin and black version of the mini.

We’re lumping four new hawks under this category, but you can read more about each below.
This is a lightweight hawk that’s packed with features like a firestarter rod in the handle, nail puller, hammering head, reflective wrapped handle, and more. Its overall length is 12.1 inches.
Throwing Hawks
This is a three-pack of throwing hawks. Each is made of one piece of steel and feature paracord-wrapped handles. They’re specifically designed for throwing.
Voodoo Hawk Mini – Satin
These two are miniature versions of the Voodoo Hawk. They’re smaller and lighter but keep the same features, like a piercing spike, metal pommel cap, and more.
Voodoo Hawk Mini – Black
This version has a hard cased black coating.
Fielder Assisted
The original Fielder has a classic look and feel, but the Fielder Assisted feels a bit more modern. It has G10 slabs against matte aluminum bolsters. The main difference is the assisted-opening mechanism. The blade on the standard Fielder Assisted is 3.5 inches while it’s only 2.75 inches on the mini.

The SEAL Strike is the latest member of the SEAL fixed blade family. It has a 4.9-inch AUS-8 steel blade that’s partially serrated. The deluxe sheath on two of the models has a built-in cord cutter, sharpener, firestarter, and more.
