Spyderco is known for making high-quality American-made knives that push the boundary of innovation and functionality, and our latest Badass Knife of the Week is yet another perfect example of Spyderco’s ethos.
The Spyderco Manix 2 is an everyday carry that embodies dependability, innovation, usefulness, and quality — all within a compact and lightweight package.
Here is an excellent overview from Gear Obsession:
Precision machined from Crucible’s premium CPM S30V stainless steel, the 3.37-inch blade features a full-flat grind for a strong and reliable edge. Jimping along the thumb ramp of the spine complements the index choil, allowing for a secure grip when doing finer tasks.
Of course, like all Spyderco knives, the blade comes with the iconic Round Hole, making it easy to open the knife swiftly and ambidextrously with a single hand.
The blade stays engaged using the patented Ball Bearing Lock, which is one of the strongest and smoothest operating lock mechanisms on the market. A hardened steel ball bearing encased in a polymer cage is plunged onto a ramp on the blade where it doesn’t move until you pull back on the cage to release the lock. Simple yet effective.
The Manix 2 is constructed with full stainless steel liners and a stainless steel back spacer that gives this knife the might any working folder should boast. Textured black G-10 scales work with the ergonomic handle to keep your grip true in any type of working condition.
A reversible tip-up carry blade allows instant access to a knife that you will always want by your side.
