Astute followers of our Badass Knife of the Week series will remember seeing the legendary KA-BAR USMC Fighting and Utility Knife way back in 2014.
We may be cheating a little bit, but in honor of Memorial Day, we picked the KA-BAR U.S. Army iteration as the latest Badass Knife of the Week.
The reason for this is simple. The KA-BAR is historically significant to the men and women who serve this country. While the legendary Fighting and Utility Knife found its fame during the height of WWII when the U.S. Marines sought a knife that could meet the needs of the elite unit, it still finds its way into the hands of servicemembers today.
This iteration of the hugely popular knife has “U.S. Army” stamped into the blade of the knife and emblazoned on the handsome leather sheath.
Now a little more about the knife. The 7-inch carbon steel blade features a black, non-reflective epoxy coating and an edge that comes razor sharp right out of the box.
Its stacked leather handle was designed to offer a better and more comfortable grip while the steel crossguard prevents the knife from slipping out of your hand in tough weather conditions.
