I have had more than enough blades of junk steel.
Some of the stuff used seems little better than aircraft aluminum.
I really appreciate those manufacturers (Kershaw) who identify
Their blade steel. Haven't found a good report on 4Cr14 stainless steel.

The focus this year seemed to be on cheaper and smaller EDC knives for those on a budget. In doing so, they neglected some of the hard-core knife users who aren't afraid to spend a little more for better quality knives. It'd love to see another Junkyard Yard, but I doubt they'd bring back the Tilt.

That was my initial impression as well. There seems to be a bigger focus on less expensive knives with lower quality steel. I'm hoping they pick it up soon.

I own 6 Kershaw knives. They're just okay in my book, except for the Junkyard Dog 2, which is great. I have to agree with the earlier comment about the cheap steels they seem to be leaning towards. What particularly saddens me is that they have some really nice new designs, but none of the new blades are 4 or more inches. I would buy more Kershaw if they did. And if anyone at Kershaw is bothering to read these comments, give us a Junkyard Dog 3 with a 4 inch blade, and BRING BACK THE TILT! You would sell scores of both. Thass'all.

Some nice offerings here, but I'm a little disappointed that the vast majority are 8Cr13MoV or lower quality, even some 4Cr14 which is junk. My favorite EDC is my Kershaw Skyline, and the Sandvik 14C28N makes a great, great blade. Would love to see Kershaw use this more.

Might have to pick up a CQC-9K, Payload, Rove, or Valmara. Or all of them.

Kershaw 1905 Induction DOES have a flipper.... your post is wrong:

"There’s no flipper or SpeedSafe, but it does use the fantastic Hawk Lock." Look at the closed knife photo on kershaw's website... clearly it uses the flipper to launch the knife open.
